  Smooth countertops make heavy dishes and pans easier to slide.

  Decrease trash with a garbage disposal.
  Locate a heat-resistant counter area close to the microwave.
  Add ease of operation with pushbutton controls on appliances.
  Rocker light switches are easy to use.
  Update sink faucets with lever handles.
  Update drawers with special easy-slide hardware.
  Add a spray hose to make filling pots easier.
  Reduce trash with trash compactor.
